Juggling Marriage and Ministry

Written By: Jeff Pieper and Jim Williams

From Connect '13: Would you like your marriage to complement your ministry and vice versa? Would you like to experience less conflict when you travel and not feel like a stranger when you return? Would you like some tools to help reconnect with the family after a ministry trip? Do you wish your spouse understood more about what you do and were more involved? This interactive lab will provide practical tools for you to take and immediately apply in your marriage, family, and ministry. We’ll also learn from one another as we share testimonies and tips for successful “juggling” of marriage and ministry. Bring questions and tips.

Dr. Jim Williams has ministered with the LPA Team since 1968, spending the first 10 years living in Mexico. He is now Vice President of Discipleship and Counseling ministries. He is a graduate of Biola University and Talbot Seminary with studies in cross-cultural communication at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and earned his doctorate from Westminster Theological Seminary. He is an author on subjects relating to Biblical counseling and is also the director of a project to render the NLT Bible into the Spanish language with Tyndale Publishing House. He has been married to his wife Gail for 46 years and they have one son and four grandsons.

Gail Williams, fluent both in English and Spanish, worked as a licensed nurse; served with her husband at LPA for 45 years; raised a son, Joel; taught women’s Bible studies both in Mexico and in the U.S.; and worked alongside her husband on a new NLT translation of the Bible in Spanish with accompanying study notes. In her spare time she enjoys her four grandsons.

Jeff Pieper is Director of Strategic Relationships at the Luis Palau Association. He teaches, trains, and encourages ministry leaders globally. Jeff and Mindy have ministered to couples for nearly 15 years, of late mainly to those serving in ministry leadership. They are the proud parents of Marisa, who is 15.
